According to Ukraine, Russia launched an attack on its energy infrastructure and several cities using cruise missiles, ballistic missiles, and drones on Wednesday.
On Wednesday, December 25, 2024, President Joe Biden announced that he has requested the U.S. Defense Department to maintain its increased delivery of weapons to Ukraine. This came after he condemned Russia’s Christmas Day attack on several Ukrainian cities and its energy infrastructure.
In a statement, Biden remarked, “The aim of this outrageous attack was to deny the Ukrainian people access to heat and electricity during winter, endangering the safety of its grid.” Republican President-elect Donald Trump is set to succeed Democrat Biden on January 20.
Ukraine reported that Russia targeted its energy infrastructure and several cities with cruise missiles, ballistic missiles, and drones on Wednesday. Since Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022, Washington has pledged $175 billion in aid to Ukraine.
