The Karnataka government has officially authorized the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) to hold Indian Premier League (IPL) games in Bengaluru’s M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. The announcement comes after a meeting between the Home Minister, KSCA representatives, and an expert team that examined the stadium’s infrastructure and safety procedures. The KSCA’s official spokesperson, Vinay Mruthyunjaya, attested to the government’s approval following an evaluation of the venue’s safety improvements.

“We are overjoyed to let you know that the government has given us permission to host IPL games at Chinnaswamy Stadium. Vinay Mruthyunjaya stated that the stadium will host all five of the matches that RCB had suggested, as well as the playoffs and finals.

He went on to say that a formal letter of authorization from the government permitting the matches to go place has been issued.Additionally, the government has requested that we make sure that all safety regulations and standard operating procedures are adhered to rigorously,” he stated.

The Expert Committee examined the stadium and the Phase 1 work before approving it, according to the KSCA. On March 13, officials carried out a thorough evaluation of the infrastructure and safety measures.The Expert Committee is satisfied with the completion of all Phase 1 work, as promised by the KSCA. To confirm the work completed, they personally inspected the stadium, Mruthyunjaya clarified.

The committee recommended additional safety precautions to be put in place on match days during the inspection.

The expert group also suggested educating the public about the enhanced safety measures at the stadium, according to KSCA Vice President Sujith Somasundar.Additionally, they believed that we ought to launch a robust social media effort to educate the public about these safety precautions. We will instruct fans on how to attend a game of this size, including details on exit routes and other arrangements like medical services and extra safety precautions that have been included,” he stated.

The stadium is now approved to hold games at full capacity, Somasundar continued.

The stadium can accommodate roughly 33,000 spectators at full capacity. Since all the safety precautions have been taken, the authorities have authorized us to host games at full capacity,” he stated.

According to the current stadium arrangement, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) will shortly receive the stadium, according to the KSCA. Several proposals from several government agencies were included in the Phase 1 work, which was mostly focused on enhancing stadium crowd control and disaster preparedness.

Widening stadium gates, expanding the number of departure points, establishing holding rooms inside the stadium, and facilitating spectator admission and exit were among the police department’s recommendations.

Additionally, officials recommended increasing the flow from Cubbon Road, which is wider and better suited for crowd movement, and decreasing the number of spectators entering through Queen’s Road.

The Phase 1 effort, which was primarily concerned with improving stadium crowd control and disaster preparedness, featured a number of suggestions from several government departments.

The police department suggested widening stadium gates, increasing the number of departure points, creating holding rooms within the stadium, and making it easier for spectators to enter and escape.

Officials also suggested reducing the number of spectators entering through Queen’s Road and increasing the flow from Cubbon Road, which is wider and better suited for crowd movement.
