In a disturbing act of animal cruelty, a man allegedly killed two-month-old stray puppies by violently throwing them against a wall and stomping on them in the parking area of an apartment within the gated community of Indis VB City in Macha Bolarum. The incident took place on April 14, when Ashish, a businessman residing in the society, brutally killed five puppies. This gruesome act was captured by surveillance cameras installed in the parking area.

The following day, residents discovered the deceased puppies and reviewed the CCTV footage, uncovering the heinous act. Upon being questioned, Ashish admitted to killing the puppies, citing his alleged dislike for strays. Following a complaint from the residents, the Alwal police filed a case and began an investigation.

Sattar Khan, a local resident, reported that Ashish has repeatedly been observed mistreating stray dogs by throwing stones and beating them with sticks. Khan further mentioned that when confronted, Ashish confessed to killing the puppies out of his dislike for strays and expressed remorse for his actions. Residents stated that a stray dog, commonly seen around the community, had given birth to five puppies ten days prior. It is alleged that Ashish targeted the pups upon discovering them in the cellar.

Aruna, another local resident, mentioned that Ashish and his wife, who own and care diligently for a golden retriever, were taken aback when confronted about the incident. Aruna expressed surprise that Ashish’s pregnant wife was unaware of her husband’s horrific actions, emphasizing the need for punishment to serve as a deterrent for others who harm stray animals.

Mudavath Preethi, an animal welfare advocate, commented on the increasing frequency of such cruel acts against strays and called for strict penalties to curb this behavior. Rahul Dev, the SHO of Alwal police station, confirmed the receipt of a complaint, stating, “A case will be registered based on the complaint, and further investigation will ensue.”
