Authorities reported on Thursday that contaminated dairy products valued at Rs 18.26 lakh were found in Hyderabad by the Telangana Commissioner’s Task Force.
Authorities said on Thursday that the Telangana Commissioner’s Task Force, Golconda team, and Masabtank Police had busted an adulterated dairy products manufacturing unit in Hyderabad, arrested one person for illegally producing ghee by combining palm oil, vanaspati, and other inferior ingredients, and seized goods valued at Rs 18.26 lakh.
The investigators raided a dairy plant called “Pride Dairy” located in Bholanagar, Banjara Hills, Road No. 12, Hyderabad, according to a news statement issued by Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Ande Srinivasa Rao, Commissioner’s Task Force, Hyderabad City.
Mohammed Junaid Hussain, a 26-year-old businessman who lives in Bhola Nagar, Hyderabad, has been identified as the accused.
Police confiscated a large amount of production equipment and contaminated dairy products during the investigation. This comprises 2,090 kg of contaminated cow cream, 1,170 kg of adulterated buffalo cream, 460 kg of adulterated ghee, and 70 kg of adulterated mixed ghee.
The accused was utilizing many used oil packets, empty tins, and 28 tins of Ruchi Gold Vanaspathi (Dalda) to aid in the adulteration.
Additionally, two boilers, a pushing machine, a packing machine, and two weighing machines (small and large) were seized by the law enforcement squad. Four gas cylinders, seventy different-sized basins (some of which contained ghee), twenty-five empty drums, and packing covers were also taken from the property. The total value of the seized goods is Rs 18,26,679.
The offender was discovered, according to the police, illegally producing contaminated ghee using cow and buffalo cream at his “Pride Dairy.” Despite having a legitimate license, he was incorporating vanaspati, palm oil, and other inferior ingredients into the products. There was a serious risk to the people’s health because these tainted goods were being marketed to the general public, lodging facilities, and event planners as authentic, pure ghee.
At the Masabtank Police Station, a case has been filed against the accused under Sections 318(4) and 274, 275 of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) under Crime Number 50/2026.
Under the close supervision of R Venkatesh, Inspector, Golconda Zone Commissioner’s Task Force, A Praveen Kumar, Inspector of Masabtank, G Vijayanand, Sub-Inspector of Police Golconda Zone Task Force, G Chandana, Sub-Inspector of Masabtank, and their staff, the raid was carried out by Additional DCP Ande Srinivasa Rao, Commissioner’s Task Force, Hyderabad City.
